The CSUB Women's water polo team enters the 2009 season looking to build upon the success of 2008.  Playing the entire 2008 season with a roster of 9 women, the CSUB team finished with a 19-18 record.  Junior Amanda Ortiz was named the WWPA conference player of the year, and fellow classmate Veronica Campbell was named WWPA newcomer of the year as our starting goalie.  BWPC summer water polo coach, Petra Koudelkova, was named WWPA 2nd team All-Confeference and 2nd team All-tournament.

With 10 new faces  (9 freshmen and a Junior College transfer), the CSUB polo team has doubled its team size going into the 2009 campaign.  As our CSUB water polo team looks to move up the national ranks into the top 20 and top 15, we are asking for your support.  Our 3 primary needs are:

1) Increased scholarships for our student athletes

2) Increased travel budget and equipment

3) A full time assistant coach that may also serve as a club coach for the BWPC.

 Without CSUB Water Polo, the Bakersfield Water Polo Club would not exist.  It is important that we do what we can to support CSUB Water Polo.
